About Leadership Dog Training

Meet Sue Buffington
Hi, I’m Sue Buffington, founder of Leadership Dog Training. I’ve been training dogs professionally since 2014. I began with Alpha Canine Professionals in Victoria, then trained in the United States with Tyler Muto — then-president of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). I’m currently furthering my skills with the National Dog Trainers Federation — Australia’s nationally recognised trainer education provider. My background is in balanced, real-world training that’s practical, fair, and gets results.
What We Do
Leadership Dog Training offers calm, balanced dog training in real-world settings. Whether you’re dealing with a reactive dog, a pushy pup, or just need structure and guidance, we tailor support that works in your home, your neighbourhood, your life.
How We Work
We use a proven balanced approach — structured routines, clear communication, rewards, and fair corrections. You’ll learn the tools to lead confidently, and your dog will learn to listen, trust and follow through.
The Outcome
Training is practical, not performative. Our goal is to make your dog a joy to live with — calm at the door, reliable on walks, and steady under pressure. Results that last because they fit into your daily routine.
