Leadership Dog Training
Client Agreement & Terms of Service
1. Services
Leadership Dog Training provides private dog training and behaviour coaching services at client homes, public locations, or other mutually agreed training environments.
Training programs are designed to provide structured instruction, practical guidance and support based on the individual needs of the client and their dog.
2. Payment
All training fees are payable in full prior to commencement of services.
By making payment for a training package or service, the client confirms that they have had the opportunity to read, understand and accept the terms of this Client Agreement.
Training services will not commence until payment has been received.
3. Packages and Refunds
Training packages are purchased as a complete training program and are non-refundable once training has commenced, including where a client chooses to discontinue training, no longer wishes to continue, or considers that their training goals have been achieved.
Refunds may be offered at the discretion of Leadership Dog Training where services cannot be delivered due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances outside the trainer’s control.
Package sessions are intended for the client and their dog and are not transferable once training has commenced.
4. Scheduled Appointments & Regular Appointment Times
Where possible, clients undertaking a multi-session training package will be allocated a regular day and time for their lessons. Regular appointment times allow the training program to progress consistently and enable Leadership Dog Training to structure its appointments and travel efficiently.
Once a regular appointment day and time has been agreed, the appointment is considered confirmed and the client is expected to be available at that time. Clients are responsible for notifying Leadership Dog Training as soon as possible if they are unable to attend. Leadership Dog Training is not required to confirm or remind clients of scheduled appointments.
If a client cancels or postpones their scheduled lesson for two consecutive weeks, Leadership Dog Training may release the regular appointment time and offer it to another client.
Any remaining sessions may be scheduled at another available time, subject to trainer availability.
Leadership Dog Training may exercise discretion in exceptional circumstances and may agree to temporarily hold a regular appointment time where circumstances reasonably warrant.
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, the scheduled session may be forfeited.
Once Leadership Dog Training has commenced travel to the client’s appointment, the session may be forfeited regardless of when notice of cancellation is received.
This provision recognises that Leadership Dog Training may travel significant distances to provide in-home training and may be unable to offer the appointment time to another client once travel has commenced.
Clients are asked to notify Leadership Dog Training as soon as they become aware that they will be unable to attend a scheduled appointment.
Rescheduled sessions are subject to trainer availability and are not guaranteed to retain the client’s previous regular appointment time.
Leadership Dog Training may, at its discretion, waive or vary the cancellation provisions in cases of genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances.
6. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Disclosing any known behavioural issues, aggression, bite history or other information relevant to the safe provision of training.
- Following all training and safety instructions provided by Leadership Dog Training.
- Handling and controlling their dog unless otherwise instructed by the trainer.
- Providing a reasonably safe training environment for in-home sessions.
- Ensuring children are appropriately supervised during training.
- Informing the trainer of any relevant changes to the dog’s health, behaviour, environment or circumstances that may affect training.
Children may observe training sessions under appropriate parental supervision but are not permitted to handle or walk dogs unless specifically approved by the trainer.
7. Safety and Risk
The client acknowledges that working with dogs involves inherent risks, including but not limited to dog bites, scratches, falls, injuries and property damage.
Leadership Dog Training will take reasonable steps to identify and manage foreseeable risks; however, not all risks associated with dog training can be eliminated.
The client remains responsible for their dog at all times and agrees to follow all reasonable safety instructions provided by the trainer.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Leadership Dog Training is not responsible for injury, loss or damage arising from the behaviour of the client’s dog or from the client’s actions or failure to follow training or safety instructions.
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights, guarantees or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable Australian law.
9. Right to Pause or Terminate Services
Leadership Dog Training reserves the right to pause or terminate training where:
- safety instructions are not followed;
- the client’s behaviour creates a safety risk;
- the training environment is considered unsafe; or
- relevant information affecting the safety of the trainer, client, dog or other persons has not been disclosed.
Where services are paused or terminated for safety reasons, any refund will be at the discretion of Leadership Dog Training, subject to applicable Australian law.
10. Acceptance of Agreement
By making payment for training services, the client confirms that they have had the opportunity to read this Client Agreement and agree to its terms.
This Agreement applies to the training services and package purchased by the client and remains applicable throughout the provision of those services.
